Wiki so Far

I have contributed information to the YouTube wiki, due to the fact that I use the platform on a daily basis. I also believe that it is one of the most important platforms to have come out of the new media age. YouTube is iconic in the sense that it serves both as a search platform and a social one for viewers and creators to communicate. In my YouTube contribution, I focused specifically on a channel called Yes Theory, which spreads a positive message for its viewers to face their fears and live their best life.


Throughout the upcoming weeks, I will continue to contribute to the wiki in subjects that I am knowledgeable or interested in. One topic that includes is photography, in that wiki, I plan on talking about the Sony A7 camera line. The Sony A7 is a camera line I have used since the beginning of my photography; I plan on offering details and experiences that will educate readers if they are interested in purchasing one. I also plan on writing and contributing to the Fashion wiki. Throughout the years I have grown a passion for fashion and designers’ iconic designers. I plan on writing about Kim Jones who has worked with some of the biggest fashion houses including Louis Vuitton and Dior.

P2P File Sharing

File sharing is simply the distribution of files through the internet, however, there are multiple ways that this can be accomplished. The method that will be discussed in this post is Peer to Peer file sharing. Peer to Peer file sharing is where a user with a file can host and share the files from their computer to whoever requests it. When I think of peer to peer sharing, I immediately think about books, movies, and music. However, an article from NPR’s article , Peers Find less Pressure Borrowing From Each Other, speaks about the potential P2P can have in the financial industry. Lending Club is a company that allows people to borrow and lend money. But the differentiating factor of this company is that lenders and borrowers can learn about one another and decided whether or not to do a transaction. Creativity and New Media

Before I speak on how I use new media as an outlet for my creativity, I’d like to share how it has inspired me to do so. During my time in high school, I became a huge fan of YouTube and the wide range of content it had to offer, from Minecraft to music videos. But one Youtuber who really caught my attention was Casey Neistat. He was a filmmaker, but his videos didn’t have a crazy high budget or production, instead, it was the story he told. From that moment on I was inspired and decided to start recording videos on just my iPhone. As time went on, I decided to buy a dedicated video camera. It was YouTube again, that taught me how to edit my videos on Final Cut Pro and adjust my camera settings. I now create videos highlighting my travels and share them via YouTube.
