Blog Social Networking
Social networks have become very prominent in the life of most individuals. This technology allows us to share our thoughts and connect with individuals we might not be able to physically see. Social networks continue to grow, but some of the most popular ones include Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Linkedin. Although there are plenty of benefits, these platforms have their tradeoffs. The first one that can be mentioned is privacy, and how this technology opens up our information to the world. Even if there are certain settings and precaution one can take towards privacy, it's not always perfect. An example can be seen from The Atlantic article which discusses how a 3rd party was able to view Randi Zuckerberg's, sister of Facebook's founder, photo. Even someone that involved within the organizations is unaware of the fine details of privacy settings, let alone an average user. These common mistakes can lead to leaks of sensitive or private information.
In addition, social networks have created many opportunities for brands and businesses. Business owners are able to promote their brand and share information and deals. Owners have a choice of posting on their social page or even buying paid advertisements in order to assist in reaching their target consumer. Originally many people looked towards the Facebook platform as the solution to gathering customers. The Asicentral article mentions that in fact a new update from Facebook has limited business owners to reaching only 2 percent of their followers. This has turned users to Instagram which allows for better reach, but at the end of the day, both platforms are still owned by Facebook.
Looking forward into the future of social networks, I believe that technology will assist in understanding users better. This can allow for better-curated content in addition to better-targeted reach for ad spenders.

I agree with your points. More and more companies start realizing the power from blog social networking and taking advantage of it, for example, Airbnb. And I also concern the same problem as you do -- the privacy. How to make the best use of the blog social networking in a safe way, people still need to work hard on it.
